13th Biennial Conference (Virtual Meeting)


This meeting links cutting edge research in male animal reproduction with the animal breeding industries which benefit from it. Attendees includes researchers, students, animal breeding industry leaders and personnel. 4A meetings are noted for excellent speakers, conviviality and ample opportunities for networking.

To promote an inclusive conference experience our 13th Biennial Conference will be held virtually so you can participate wherever you are in the world and at a time that best suits you!

Registration for the virtual meeting includes:

  • Access to archive of recordings from all sessions for up to three months after the conference.

Event Agenda


Submit an Abstract


Abstracts for posters and oral presentations are invited. All accepted abstracts will be published in a special issue of Animal Reproduction Science. The review committee will select abstracts to be presented as either an oral presentation (20 minutes, including question time) or a poster presentation.

Please note: It is a requirement that the presenting author is registered to attend the meeting to facilitate both publication and presentation of the work.


Abstract Requirements:

  • Abstracts must consist of unpublished, original data.
  • Submissions must be in English, prepared according to the submission instructions. Language should be concise and avoid jargon. Abbreviations and acronyms must be defined and used sparingly.
  • Due to publishing constraints, abstracts must be no more than 400 words - including title, author(s) and affiliations.
  • Text should contain clear objectives, experimental methods (including statistical methods), results and conclusions. Do not include subheadings within the text (e.g. Introduction, Results, Discussion, etc.)
  • Abstracts must be submitted digitally using standard Microsoft Word document types (e.g. ".doc", ".docx"). PDF files will not be accepted.
  • Please use the following:
    • Font: Times New Roman
    • Title: 12pt bold
    • Author(s) and Affiliation(s): 10pt providing full names of all authors
    • Text/Body: 12pt in single paragraph
    • If desired, grant support indication may be included at the end of abstract
  • References and tables are not permitted. If necessary, short citations should be included within the body of the text. E.g. "survive the cryopreservation process (Lorton et al, An Reprod Sci, 1:1, 2015)". Citations will count towards the total word count.
  • All submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter (please see template here).

Student Competition


Current students (Masters, PhD, or equivalent), professional (DVM, MD, or equivalent) or veterinary residents wishing to enter the student competition are invited to participate in the student competition! Students wishing to enter must be both first author and presenting author for the given abstract.

Of the abstracts entered, 4-5 will be selected to give an oral presentation (15 minutes, including question time) during a dedicated award session on Friday, June 24th, 2022. A poster presentation will also be required as part of all accepted student contributions. Judging will be based on the quality of the abstract, the poster and oral presentation. Students selected for the competition will receive gratis registration to the conference and the overall winner will also receive a cash prize.
